Chinese R&D

SPICE will build a highly efficient network to accelerate the quick information flow between China and the EU, which will be a solid foundation for implementing other ICT cooperation activities and produce mid-term and even long-term benefits for Chinese scientists. The main target is research cooperation with European researchers and companies that is funded by technology programmes from China but also from Europe (FP7). As SPICE also investigates academic partnerships and researcher mobility, the project supports international cooperation of universities and research organisations.

Dedicated ICT workshops will be held in accordance with the shared priorities of both sides and the new calls for proposals of FP7. Training sessions will be emphasised to greatly facilitate Chinese researchers and regional S&T policy makers better understand EU's ICT research background and the Framework Programme.

SPICE will organize a number of promotional events including S&T exhibitions and multilateral/bilateral workshops to highlight the existing ICT cooperation and stimulate this cooperation towards a higher level. S&T exhibitions will be useful for the demonstration of past and existing excellent EU-China activities. Online services and promotional materials such as newsletters, leaflets and posters will reach thousands of Chinese and European scientists.
